In the September issue of OMNI, in the "Games" section is a 2 page
introduction to the cube, complete with a few sketches showing a
solved cube, an example of rotating one side, and an example of a really
RANDOMIZED cube.
For those of us not familiar with the cube (I still can't find
one...sigh) this article was very enlightening. It also includes the
address from which one can get Singmaster's "Notes on the Magic Cube".
