Nikolaus Conference 2025

Aim

The Nikolaus conference is an annual meeting at Lehrstuhl für Algebra und Zahlentheorie (RWTH Aachen). The main aim is the meeting of people who have recently finished a thesis on a topic in group or representation theory with some established people in this area. Particularly welcome are reports on projects with a computational aspect, but other topics are welcome as well.

Time

Friday, December 5, 2025, about 2pm to
Saturday, December 6, 2025, about 6pm.

All talks on a Nikolaus conference are 20 minutes long.

The schedule contains long coffee breaks and "evening sessions" which can be used for further discussions.

After the talks on Saturday we will have the traditional Research Cambridge Style session in one of the nearby restaurants/pubs. For this reason many participants will stay until Sunday morning.

Place

We can meet and will have coffee breaks in Pontdriesch 14/16 (first floor). Lectures will be in the ground floor (Room 008 SeMath) of the same building.

Registration

If you intend to come, we ask you to fill this registration form.

You can also offer to give a talk via the registration form. Please, use this possibility!

Accomodation

(We had pre-reserved rooms in the RWTH guesthouse, but these are all booked now! Sorry.)

To find accomodation, we suggest to use an online booking site like www.aachen-tourismus.de or booking.com or www.airbnb.de.

Do not wait too long with your reservation - in December there is a large Christmas market with many visitors in Aachen.
