Description

The Example package, as its name suggests, is an example of how to create a GAP package. It has little functionality except for being a package. It is intended to provide a prototype and hint for writing a GAP package.

The current version removes deprecated code, completely updating it for the new package loading mechanism of GAP 4.4. It is not backward compatible with GAP 4.3.

Package writers are urged to base any new packages on the the latest version of the Example package, and not the previous version (version 1.5) of the Example package, which will eventually be broken when ReadPkg and other similar deprecated package loading commands are removed from GAP.

Installation

Detailed installation instructions are contained in the package README file.
