Summer school: Representations of Algebraic Groups and Lie Algebras in Characteristic p
Representations of algebraic groups and related structures in their defining characteristic are an active research area with very interesting recent developments. The aim of this summer school is to introduce some of the ideas in this area.
The principal target group consists of advanced PhD students and postdocs.
The program of the summer school consists of lecture series by the three main speakers as well as introductory lectures by some participants.
Moreover, there will be time for individual discussions during the breaks and in the evenings.
Main lecturers and topics
- Henning Haahr Andersen (Aarhus University): Tilting modules for reductive algebraic groups in characteristic p, connection to quantum groups at roots of unity, connections to the Lusztig conjectures in both cases and the recent work by Geordie Williamson
- Peter Fiebig (University Erlangen-Nürnberg): Moment graphs and geometric representation theory, in particular an outline of the main ideas that yield proofs of the Kazhdan-Lusztig conjectures (for semisimple Lie algebras and Kac-Moody algebras) and a proof of the Lusztig conjecture (for modular Lie algebras) for large enough primes
- Jens Carsten Jantzen (Aarhus University): Representations of algebraic groups and Lie algebras in characteristic p, linkage principle, Steinberg's tensor product theorem
