The ANUPQ package provides an interactive interface to the p-quotient, p-group generation and standard presentation algorithms of the ANU pq C program. The package supersedes the earlier GAP 3 version (1.0).
Detailed installation instructions are contained in the package README file.
Here is the documentation of the ANUPQ package in several output formats. If you have installed the package as described above you can also access all of these documents from the GAP online help.
Here is the (standalone) documentation of the pq C program in several output formats.
The ANUPQ package is available in several formats:
anupq-3.0.zoo
(use the "unzoo" or "unzoo.exe" from the GAP
homepage)
anupq-3.0.tar.gz
(GNU tar
archive, gzip
'ed)
The current version removes deprecated code, completely updating it for the new package loading mechanism of GAP 4.4. It is not backward compatible with GAP 4.3.
There is an improvement to IsPqIsomorphicPGroup
suggested by
Marco Costantini that Jack Schmidt helped us get right(!) but no bugfixes
in this version. If the user has not updated from GAP 4.3 (at least fix4), then they must continue to use
the previous version of the ANUPQ package (version
2.2) together with AutPGrp 1.1. However, it is
strongly recommended that the user upgrades their GAP installation.
