Frequently Asked QuestionsGeneral Obtaining GAP Installation Hardware/OS Usage Complaints Computing with GAP Programming GAP 5. Usage hints5.1: How can I customize GAP?Using a .gaprc file for customization may save connection time. GAP looks for the file with the name .gaprc in your home directory (on UNIX systems) when you start it. If such a file is found it is read after libname/init.g, but before any of the files mentioned on the command line are read. You may use it, for example, to read a file containing functions or data that you always need, or to define your personal abbreviations for some names in the library, which seems to be too long for you. For more details about .gaprc files see the GAP Reference Manual section The .gaprc file. |
