Title: Lower Bounds on the Number of Brauer Characters
Abstract:
Let \(G\) be a finite group with only two conjugacy classes of \(p\)-elements. Apart from two exceptions, we prove that \(G\) has at least \(p\) irreducible characters of \(p'\)-degree. Similar results are obtained for principal blocks and Brauer characters. This is joint work with N.N. Hung and P.H. Tiep.
