Virtual Nikolaus Conference 2020

Aim

The Nikolaus conference is an annual meeting at Lehrstuhl für Algebra und Zahlentheorie (former Lehrstuhl D für Mathematik) at RWTH Aachen. The main aim is to bring together people who have recently finished a thesis on a topic in group or representation theory and some established people in this area. Particularly welcome are reports on projects with a computational aspect.

Format of the meeting

Due to the current pandemic situation it will not be possible to have any "live" meeting in Aachen in December. So, there will be no live talks, no discussions during the breaks with coffee, cookies, cakes and Printen, and no "research Cambridge style" in the Labyrinth this year.

Nevertheless, we offer a shorter virtual meeting and hope to have at least some Nikolaus talks this year via zoom.

Dates of the meeting

The talks will be
Friday, December 11, 2020, in the afternoon and maybe
Saturday, December 12, 2020, in the afternoon (so far optional, depending on how many talks are offered).

As usual all talks will be at most 20 minutes.

Friday evening we will attempt to have some kind of virtual "research Cambridge style".

Registration

If you want to attend you need to register with your email address such that I can send you the zoom-link before the meeting.

You are also welcome to offer a talk with your registration!

Hm, information about lecture rooms, accommodation, travelling, Christmas market and so on is not needed this year...
