Computer algebra projects

Members of the Chair for Algebra and Number Theory (former: Lehrstuhl D für Mathematik) have always contributed to the development of mathematical software, in particular for computer algebra projects. Here are links to some of these contributions:

GAP
A general computer algebra system with particular strengths in group theory and representation theory. Developed here sind the 1980s, today an international project.
OSCAR
A new computer algebra system, that uses the programming language julia, and which builts upon the projects GAP, Singular, polymake, Nemo and many more software packages. It is developed within the SFB-TRR 195 (Symbolic Tools in Mathematics and their Application).
CHEVIE
A computer algebra package, co-developed here, for computing in and with Coxeter groups, Iwahori-Hecke algebras, algebraic groups, Chevalley groups, ...
C-MeatAxe
The MeatAxe as collection of standalone programs, written in C, by Michael Ringe.
Modular Atlas
A project for the computation of all modular character tables of all sporadic simple and related groups.
Magma
A general computer algebra system to which several persons here are contributing.
