The Homepage of TeXer

What is the TeXer?

The TeXer is a little script that performs exactly the necessary steps to create the final document from the TeX sources. Thus it runs latex, bibtex, makeindex in the right order and the right number of times. It does this by looking at the created files, calculating checksums and working until the output is stable and thus in an intelligent and not heuristic way.

There is some support to use the TeXer from within the editor VIM.

You can download the TeXer via this link. The archive extracts to a subdirectory "texer" which contains the file INSTALL that describes the installation.

The TeXer is written in Python and of course requires a complete TeX installation on a UNIX type operating system.
